On April 14, the World Steel Association officially announced the list of “Sustainability Champions” for the steel industry in 2026. For the first time, Jingye Group was awarded this highest global honor in the field of sustainable development, becoming the second steel enterprise in China to receive this distinction. This achievement not only underscores the Group’s green development strategy as being fully aligned with international sustainability principles, but also signifies a new breakthrough in its core competitiveness and international brand influence.
The “Sustainable Development Excellence Award” was launched by the World Steel Association in 2018 to recognize member companies that actively participate in the Association’s sustainable development framework, rigorously uphold their sustainability commitments, and demonstrate outstanding overall performance. It represents a globally authoritative endorsement of the steel industry in areas such as green and low-carbon practices, social responsibility, and governance innovation.
Jingye Group has deeply integrated itself into the World Steel Association’s core sustainability initiatives, distinguishing itself through comprehensive practices and innovative achievements. At the industry‑wide collaboration level, the Group has actively participated in the WSA’s sector‑specific data benchmarking, the dedicated collection of carbon dioxide emissions data, and the submission of product life‑cycle inventory (LCI) data, earning high recognition from the Association. In terms of systemic integration, Jingye has successfully joined the WSA’s Life Cycle Assessment Expert Committee and officially become a member of the 2025–2027 Sustainable Development Charter. On the front of innovation, to secure a leading voice in shaping green and low‑carbon industry standards and enhance the international competitiveness of its 3D‑printed products, the Group spearheaded the drafting of the “Additive Manufacturing Metal Powder Product PCR (Product Category Rules),” and was the first to publish on the China Iron and Steel Association’s official website the world’s inaugural Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) report for iron‑based metal powders. This initiative was shortlisted for the World Steel Association’s Life Cycle Assessment Excellence Award, serving as a key pillar of the Group’s recognition.
For many years, Jingye Group has consistently kept pace with the wave of sustainable development in the steel industry, taking a leading position through unwavering determination and concrete actions. The Group has invested over RMB 10 billion in areas such as energy conservation and emissions reduction, integrated energy utilization, circular economy development, and digital empowerment for green transformation. It has been recognized as an A‑grade environmental performance enterprise in Hebei Province, designated a “Hebei Provincial Industrial Tourism Demonstration Enterprise,” and included in the first batch of Green Factories by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, laying a solid foundation for its recent receipt of this international honor.
Jingye Group will take this honor as a new starting point, continuing to deepen its innovative practices in sustainable development, steadily enhancing its core competitiveness and international brand influence, and, with greater proactiveness and more concrete actions, contributing to the high-quality, sustainable development of the global steel industry.
